Dawn Coutu watches the birds when she walks, instead of the sidewalk.
Dawn also writes anything that needs to be written for Duncraft, from social media status updates to press releases and so much more. Dawn received her degrees in creative writing and poetry, so she knows how to make language pop.
Her articles, interviews, and poetry have been published in Ad Hoc Monadnock, Amoskeag, Big Lucks, Extract(s), The Henniker Review, Metazen, NH Writer, OVS Magazine, Petrichor Machine, Scapegoat Review, Today Magazine, and The Tower Journal, among others.
Her articles in Today Magazine have been picked up by the National Institutes of Health and Dartmouth College. Her poem “Obsession as Artichoke” was nominated for the Best of the Net 2013 by Metazen.
Dawn has been a performance judge for Poetry Out Loud for at least four years now. Plus, she’s a member of the Yogurt Poets. She’s also had the good fortune to share the stage with the late New Hampshire poet laureate Walter E. Butts and poet laureate of Connecticut Dick Allen.
Dawn Coutu is the official storyteller for the Living History Event in Hillsborough, New Hampshire, where she wears a hoop skirt and reads stories on the trolley to kids of all ages.
